A Rainy Day

A rainy day is a day when it rains a lot. The sky is full of dark clouds (মেঘ). The sun cannot be seen. Sometimes it rains slowly. Sometimes it rains very heavily (ভারীভাবে). The roads become muddy (কর্দমাক্ত) and slippery (পিচ্ছিল). People walk with umbrellas (ছাতা) over their heads. Cows and goats stay inside their sheds (গোয়াল/আস্তাবল). Birds stay in their nests (বাসা). They cannot find food (খাবার/খাদ্য). Students cannot go to school (বিদ্যালয়/স্কুল). They stay at home. Rich (ধনী) people enjoy a rainy day. They eat special foods. But poor (গরীব) people suffer (কষ্ট পায়). They cannot go to work (কাজ) and earn (আয় করা) money. Yet, a rainy day is good for our country. It helps the farmers (কৃষক) grow crops (শস্য). So, a rainy day is a special (বিশেষ) and important (গুরুত্বপূর্ণ) day in our life.

বৃষ্টির দিন

বৃষ্টির দিন হলো এমন একটি দিন যখন প্রচুর বৃষ্টি হয়। আকাশ কালো মেঘে ভরা থাকে। সূর্য দেখা যায় না। কখনও ধীরে ধীরে বৃষ্টি হয়। কখনও খুব জোরে বৃষ্টি হয়। রাস্তাঘাট কর্দমাক্ত এবং পিচ্ছিল হয়ে যায়। মানুষ মাথার উপর ছাতা নিয়ে হাঁটে। গরু এবং ছাগল তাদের শেডের ভিতরে থাকে। পাখিরা তাদের বাসাতেই থাকে। তারা খাবার খুঁজে পায় না। ছাত্ররা স্কুলে যেতে পারে না। তারা বাড়িতে থাকে। ধনী ব্যক্তিরা বৃষ্টির দিন উপভোগ করে। তারা বিশেষ খাবার খায়। কিন্তু দরিদ্র লোকেরা কষ্ট পায়। তারা কাজে যেতে পারে না এবং অর্থ উপার্জন করতে পারে না। তবুও, বৃষ্টির দিন আমাদের দেশের জন্য ভালো। এটি কৃষকদের ফসল ফলাতে সাহায্য করে। তাই, বৃষ্টির দিন আমাদের জীবনের একটি বিশেষ এবং গুরুত্বপূর্ণ দিন।

A RAINY DAY

A rainy day is a wet day. It rains all day long on a rainy day. It generally occurs (ঘটে) in the rainy season. A rainy day is dull (নিরানন্দ) and gloomy (অন্ধকারময়). Black clouds cover the sky. The sun remains unseen (অদেখা) for hours (ঘন্টার পর ঘন্টা ধরে). Sometimes it drizzles (গুঁড়িগুঁড়ি বৃষ্টি হয়). Sometimes it rains cats and dogs (মুষলধারে বৃষ্টি হয়). Fields go under water. Roads become muddy (কর্দমাক্ত) and slippery (পিচ্ছিল). Passersby (পথিক) walk with umbrella overhead. Cows and goats cannot go out. They remain in the shed (আশ্রয় / গোয়াল). Birds cannot look for food. They remain in their nest. Students cannot go to school. They stay at home. So, it is a good day to them. Rich people stay at home and enjoy special foods. Poor people suffer (কষ্টপায়) much on this day. They cannot go to work and earn money. So, they cannot buy food. They have to starve (অনাহারে থাকে). Yet, a rainy day is a good day in our country. It brings new hope to our farmers. So, a rainy day is a special (বিশেষ) day in our life.
